About Global Legal Action Network (GLAN)

GLAN is a unique non-profit organisation that pursues innovative legal actions across borders, challenging states and other powerful actors involved with human rights violations. Our vision is for justice beyond borders. We believe that more can be done to challenge serious human rights violations by transcending borders, working transnationally and giving a voice to the disempowered. Not only do we mobilise law across borders, we bridge disciplines by bringing together experts from different areas of law and professional perspectives (practice/academia) to unlock the potential of foreign courts and legal mechanisms to secure change.

The Role

Since we began in 2018, GLAN has grown into a punchy organisation working on numerous legal cases across the globe to challenge injustice and seek accountability for harms committed to people and to the planet.  Over the past three years, our voluntary income has increased substantially which has created an opportunity to expand our fundraising team to support our growth.

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated person to work closely with the Development Lead to deliver our fundraising strategy.  We are hoping to recruit a person with excellent writing and communication skills as this role will regularly engage with our supporters, update them on key developments in our cases and act as the first point of contact for individual donors.  We are building a pipeline of new donors and working on diversifying our income stream so new ideas and research skills will be valuable assets to the fundraising team.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN.  We have just expanded our legal team to build a portfolio of new projects and are in the midst of preparing for court hearings for some of the most innovative and biggest cases on the planet.  We maintain excellent relationships with our loyal base of grant funders and are currently researching our best audience to implement an individual giving programme.  This new role will join a passionate and experienced team to help us realise our fundraising goals.
